Christine Balfa is a native Louisiana French speaker, a committed and caring teacher, and a deeply- rooted Cajun musician with a passion for culture and education. As the daughter of Cajun cultural ambassador and National Heritage Fellow Dewey Balfa, she grew up in the center of the renaissance of Cajun and Creole culture. She plays with Grammy nominated group, Bonsoir, Catin. She also is a visual artist. With a shift toward raising her own family, she made the decision to pursue her love of teaching, with a focus on the subjects about which she is most passionate – French and Music.
